Medical Nutrition Therapy
Registered Dietitians are available for individual counseling
for all your nutrition needs including weight loss, lipid
management and disease specific nutrition issues, including
nutrition and cancer counseling. To schedule an appointment,

Throughout the year, Mercy Nutrition and Food Services
also hosts a number of community education programs designed
in a fun and relaxing way to heighten your understanding
and awareness of nutrition and how nutrition affects your
health. Look for these exciting offerings through general
promotion programs included in the newspaper and other media
outlets.
Diabetes Education
and Training
Certified Diabetes Educators, a Registered Nurse and Registered
Dietitians will help you with the management of your diabetes.
Education and training occurs in a group setting or on an
individual basis and covers topics such as:
- Meal planning
- Medications
- Insulin injections and techniques
- Blood glucose monitoring
- Complications and more
A physician referral and appointment are necessary. To

This program also sponsors a Diabetes
Support Group. This group is designed for people with
diabetes and their families. A variety of guest speakers
join this self-directed group to provide additional educational
information and support. The group meets the fourth Thursday
of each month at 1 p.m., at Mercy Hospital and if free of

Food & Drug Interaction Guide
Mercy Nutrition and Food Services and professionals from
the Mercy Inpatient Pharmacy are keenly concerned with food
and drug interactions and how they affect your health and

Baggot Street Café
For guest dining, Mercy Nutrition & Food Services offers
the Baggot Street Café. The café is open daily,
and provides a variety of healthy and excellently prepared
meals, including a fresh salad bar.
Weekend hours for the café include:
Lunch Hour: 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
Dinner Hour: 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
A vending area is also available when the café is
closed. It is located next to the Gift Shop, and is available
seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
