Mercy Regional Cancer Center Announces Breast Cancer Survival Data That Surpasses National Statistics
Port Huron, MI… Providing an in-depth look at local breast cancer treatment and survival statistics, the Mercy Regional Cancer Center, 2007 Cancer Care Annual Report is now available via the Internet, online at Mercy Hospital.
The Annual Report, featuring local cancer care statistics through the Mercy Regional Cancer Center, can be accessed by going to the Mercy Hospital website at: www.mymercy.us; and visiting the Cancer Care section.
The report provides detailed information regarding the programs of the Mercy Regional Cancer Center, its services and accomplishments as a leading provider of cancer screening and treatment.
In addition to Mercy Hospital being named “Best in Cancer Care” by the Commission on Cancer [2005], the report also reflects Mercy’s five-year survival statistics for breast cancer which surpass the National Cancer Data Base statistics for 2006 in all five stages of diagnosis.
“We are extremely proud of the survival statistics for breast cancer patients through the Mercy Regional Cancer Center,” comments Krishna Valjee, a local surgeon through St. Clair Surgical Group, PC, and Co-Chair of the Mercy Cancer Committee. “This means that patients diagnosed with breast cancer can be assured they are receiving care from highly-trained physician specialists in an environment that is focused on patient care. With Mercy’s dedication to providing high-tech services, they also will know that they are receiving the most advanced cancer care services through Mercy Hospital.”
